Creating First 3 Pages of Your Website

You have your niche, your website, you understand keywords, now it is time to get rolling with the actual “building” of the framework, starting with the creation of a few website pages.

It is important to deal with your site structure and your “vision” early on, so this is going to become a common theme until we can get it hashed out and something that we are going to be working on in the days ahead.

Before I get into the tasks, I have created a video walk-through of this lesson that you should watch below.

Get Some Influence from Other Websites (at least 3)

Today we are going to be coming up with a potential direction for your site…

The core of our site is going to promote products and services within our niche, but in order to do this we need to make it a good experience for our audience. To accomplish this, we are going to want to build our website in a way that is useful for people.

To do this, we want to start with organization and menu structure. Although we are not going to be completing our menu now (it will be built over time), I want you to take a few minutes and come up with some ideas based on your research of other sites within your niche. This does not mean copying, this means taking influence and ideas from other sites that we may or may not use in the future.

We can also come up with some of our very own ideas.

Here are some potential categories that I have come up for my “how to lose belly fat” website that I think would be appropriate for a section on my site.

  • Belly Fat Exercises
  • The Best Diet Foods
  • Things to Stay Away From
  • Best Weight Loss Products
  • My Personal Reviews
  • Motivation Stories

These are 7 sections that I quickly came up with by researching the niche a little bit. You should do the same within your niche. Come up with some themes that are relevant to your niche that your audience will be interested in if they visit your website.

Write down a few ideas for this as we will be coming back later as we build out our websites. I suggest you come up with at least 3 ideas (you can get as many as you like though).

Create 3 Draft Pages

Your next task is going to be creating 3 pages in “draft” mode on your website. You will not want to Publish these just yet, so as you Add a New Page and create the title of your 3 pages, you will simply want to Save as a Draft.

The first page you create should be related to the name of your website. For example, the domain name for my website is:

So I am going to create my first page as:

How to Lose Belly Fat Fast

Create a page that reflects your domain name. It doesn’t have to be exactly the same, but it should be similar.

The other TWO pages that you are going to want to create are:

  • About Me
  • Privacy Policy

After you create those two pages, save them as drafts. We are not adding content right now, we’re just creating the framework! As with any page or post on your website, these page names and titles can be changed down the road so don’t worry about them being perfect.

That is it for this lesson. If you have any questions about any of the content within this lesson, please leave it below. When you are done this initial set-up, you can move onto the next lesson!

Finding Content Ideas from Keywords

You have likely heard the term “keyword research”. This is the act of finding keyword phrases that are relevant to your niche and deciding whether or not it is appropriate to build content around that particular keyword. This is going to be the “root” of all your search engine optimization success, so we are going to be tackling keywords here before we get into creating content.

First, WHAT is a KEYWORD?

A keyword is simply a word or phrase that people search for in the search engines. Every time you do a google search you are entering a “keyword” into the search box.

Ultimately, the goal of your keyword research is to find keywords that you can get rankings in Google, Yahoo, and Bing with, all while attracting a relevant audience. You will be using the keywords that you find in this lesson to build content around. This will lead you to search engine rankings and traffic to your website!

In this lesson you are going to be tasked to come up with a few “keywords” relevant to your website and your niche.

Each page you create will be targeting a keyword…

That is correct. Moving forward, you are going to be building content on your website. Each page/post that you create will target a brand new keyword (and we will be showing you how). This means that every page or post will have the opportunity to rank under that given keyword in Google and lead to you getting traffic.

100 pages targeted 100 keywords = 100 potential Google rankings.

This can and will lead to mass amounts of traffic and those that follow along with this training are going to see their traffic continue to go up with every “keyword targeted” page or post that they create on their website.

Remember, Google and other search engines are around because of CONTENT and if you can deliver quality content (that targets low competition keywords), you will be able to get great rankings!

I have created a video walk-through of this lesson and I suggest you watch this if you want to get a wonderful overview of what keywords are and how to apply them to your business.

Keywords.  This is a term that very few people truly understand and because of this I wanted to go into some detail and explain what a keyword is and why it is important to your business.

Basically, a keyword is simply any “term” or “phrase” that someone types into Google when looking for something.

Keyword Phrase

This is the start of all SEO campaigns, paid ad campaigns, and ultimately if you understand keywords and how to find them, you are going to be VERY successful online.

To follow through this training, you are going to need at the very least a free account.

Alphabet Soup Technique – If you use this technique to come up with “keyword ideas” and then put them into Jaaxy or the keyword tool at WA, you are going to have unlimited keywords (regardless of the niche) at your disposal. I highly recommend you check out this video.

Create a FREE Jaaxy Account (gives you 30 awesome searches)

To complete this lesson you must Register for a FREE Jaaxy Account! is the most powerful keyword tool on the market and delivers accurate, real time data that is going to help you come up with SEO ready keywords. Jaaxy is a company that Carson and I own and founded and was built to fill the many gaps of every other keyword tool out there.

Going forward, Jaaxy is going to provide you with sophisticated keyword and research data (and will save you a TON of time). We offer 30 searches for free when you register which will get you up and running with your Niche & Keyword research.

Perform 10 different searches using

Your next task is going to be performing 10 full searches relevant to your niche using the Keyword tool. Jaaxy is the worlds BEST keyword research platform and there is a Free Trial account available that you need to sign-up for to complete this task.

My suggestion is to start broad with a few of your searches (ie. two or three word searches). For example if your niche was “how to lose belly fat”, you might want to start with the search terms:

  • belly fat
  • how to lose belly fat
  • belly fat weight loss
  • stomach fat
  • remove belly fat
  • etc

Then refine your searches. As you see keywords, check the QSR (Quoted Search Result). If it is under 300 results (the lower the better), add to your “good” keyword list (which will be used towards your next task). Ideally you want to aim for keywords with at least 50 monthly searches.

Research and find at least 5 keywords related to your niche with the following criteria:

(1) More than 50 monthly searches (sometimes ANY traffic is OK)
(2) Less than 200 QSR. (the lower the less competition).
(3) Keyword must make sense.

Here is an example search using Jaaxy:

Jaaxy Keyword Tool

As you can see, most of these keywords meet the traffic test (over 50 monthly searches). The last check is to click the “Get QSR” to see what the competition is. If you are on the Jaaxy trial, you will simply click “Get QSR” until I find a keyword with under 200 competition.

The keyword must make grammatical sense. If it doesn’t and you want to use that keyword, do another search on the keyword that makes sense as the data will differ slightly. An example of this is “best tips lose belly fat” which doesn’t make grammatical sense (it is missing the “to”). I would do another search on this but this time “best tips to lose belly fat”.

Do this exact process within your niche to come up with 5 Keywords.

WA PREMIUM INCLUDES: 1,000 Hand Picked Keywords and Unlimited Searches Using the WA Keyword Tool!

We have a Keyword Tool that you get unlimited access to as a Premium member here at Wealthy Affiliate. This is a different tool than Jaaxy but it will give you UNLIMITED keyword searches to reveal keywords for your niche!

Getting Your Site Ready for SEO

We are now getting into the fun stuff!

You have your website in place and now you want to make it SEO ready so that search engines can find it. Our goal is to get ranked in the BIG 3, Google, Bing & Yahoo. Do note that our focus is going to be primarily on Google though as they own over 2/3 of all search traffic, and over 95% of mobile searches.

But why do you want rankings in the search engines? Simple…

Website Rankings + Targeted Traffic = Revenue!

This is the first step in creating an online revenue stream. Today we are going to walk you through the set-up of a plugin that is going to do a lot of the “dirty work” for you and will take care of the optimization of all your website pages/posts, meta tags, and other aspects that search engines look for when ranking your site.

I have created a video walk-through of this training and please follow along as it will add a lot of clarity to how SEO works, but also how to install the All in One SEO plugin.

Set-up All in One SEO on your site

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a very important aspect of any website’s success.

In this task we are going to be setting up a plugin that makes our website code (the stuff behind the scenes of our website) friendly for search engines like Google so they can index and rank our sites properly. This is going to be very powerful for your website content getting ranked in search engines going forward, so don’t skip this task.

Make sure you follow the instructions on setting this up from this lesson’s video. Here are a few things that you want to remember:

  • You can update this at any time within your the main menu (the link to the All in One SEO set-up is just under the Dashboard menu item)
  • Update your Home Title and Home Description. Keywords are not all that important.
  • Change the | to – (optional)
  • Save the settings when done.

You are NOT going to see these changes from setting up this plugin as the work is done behind the scenes within your websites HTML code. Don’t worry about this, it is making your code friend for search engines like Google. 🙂

Setting Up Your Website

At this stage of the course you should have your website created!

Congratulations, this is a big accomplishment!

Looking back to 2002 when I started my career in Online Business it took me almost 4 weeks to figure out how to build a website, there were no tools like WordPress Express and websites had to be developed by coding manually!

How things have changed!

In this lesson we are going to be walking you through the process of getting your website set-up so it is ready for the search engines and also ready for you to start building out the content. I am also going to be walking you through the activation of your plugins and what they really do for your site.

I have created a Video walk-through for this lesson. Click below to watch the video below…

In this training video I am going to walk you through the process of initially setting up your website. I cover some of the main aspects of getting your website ready for content and ready to get indexed within the search engines (like Google).

Here are some of the topics that are going to be covered:

(1) How to access your WordPress admin area
(2) Understanding the different sections of WordPress
(3) What plugins are and the benefits of them
(4) Activating your WordPress plugins
(5) Removing the “default” dummy content installed with WordPress

Let’s start:

Login into your website admin area

In order to do this, you need to log into your website. This is very easy to do and can be done using the “Log In!” button (this is within the WA site).

This will automatically show you all your users you have associated with your website and from there you can log into your website. No need for manual logins!

From there you will have all the manual login details (and some more automated login buttons). Do know that if you change your password, the auto login buttons WILL NOT work and you will have to login manually using the Login Page.

Activate and Update Your Plugins

After you login, you will see your WordPress administration dashboard for your website (see below).

This may look completely foreign to you if you have never logged into a WordPress website before, but don’t worry, you will get the hang of this and there is a ton of help here within the community to work you through any questions/issues you may run into.

WordPress is the most powerful and widely used website platform in the world. It is used by over 30% of ALL websites (millions) and it also has a wide range of “add ons” known as plugins that you can use extend the functionality of your website.

When you install website here at WA we pre-install the most useful plugins with your website automatically and your first step is going to be activating these plugins.Plugins

To do this you will want to click on the Plugins tab within the menu.

You are going to want to go through and “Activate” the All in One SEO & the Exclude Pages from Navigation.

Delete default Posts, Pages and Comments

Every new WordPress website that you install will come with “default” content. You want to get rid of this content before you can start creating content that is relevant to your niche.

The first thing you want to do is delete the default post that is added with postseach website. Click on the Posts button, within the side menu.

This will take you to the posts page where you will go to see a list of all the posts on your website. A post is simply a content page on your site.

default post

Simply “mouse over” the post area and it will reveal the post management buttons. You will want to then click the “Trash” button. This will delete the default “Hello World!” post. Do the same with the “Pages” link as well.

**Do note that there may not be default Pages or Posts and if that is the case, just move on.

Now we are going to do the same thing with Comments. There is one default comment with every WordPress install. To manage your Comments simply click Comments within the commentsmenu.

Like the Posts page, this is where you will manage all of your websites comments. You will see the default comment showing there…

Like posts, you will simply “mouse over” the actual comment and the click the Trash button. This will delete the comment.trash comments

That is it for this lesson, you now have a live website that is set-up and ready to go. This is your own Internet “real estate”. You will use this website to connect with your niche and ultimately earn revenue through. This website is your foundation for building a successful online business!

Going forward we are going to be getting your website ready for search engines by making it SEO friendly! This is going to be critical to your success going forward.

Congratulations on finishing the first half of the Level 1 training. You are making wonderful progress! 🙂

Build Your Website

At this stage of the course you have chosen your niche. Now we are going to show you how to take this niche and create your very own website… for FREE within Wealthy Affiliate 🙂

First we want to explain the difference between a Free website and a website that you OWN.

Your Own Website vs. A Free Website

Having your own domain name is ideal and gives you a huge competitive advantage when it comes to succeeding online. For example, if you owned your own domain it would look something like this…

To host your own websites here, you have to be a Premium member.

When starting out it is not 100% necessary as we do provide TWO free websites to you as a Starter member. At Wealthy Affiliate we have one of the top Website Builders in the world called SiteRubix (you find it under the SiteRubix link in the main menu). This allows you to easily install both free websites and if you are a Premium member, websites on your own domain.

You can actually register domains here within Wealthy Affiliate as well through the SiteDomains platform as both a Starter or Premium member.

Today you are going to create a free website targeted to the niche that you have chosen in the previous lesson.

Choosing Your Domain Name…

When you create a free website today, you will choose a extension (subdomain). I suggest choosing something that is highly relevant to your niche.

For example, if your niche was “Macbook Air Cases”, your domain name would be:

And your website name would be:

Macbook Air Cases

As a Free member here at Wealthy Affiliate, you get 2 free websites, so If you make a mistake initially, you can always choose another one in the future and you can delete ones that you don’t want. In other words you can install/delete over and over again and have up to 2 websites hosted on our state of the art web hosting for absolutely nothing.
***As a Premium member of Wealthy Affiliate you to host up to 50 websites (25 own domains, 25 free websites) on our state of the art “managed” wordpress hosting platform.

This includes unlimited email accounts, free SSL,  premium monitoring and security, access to our SiteComments, SiteHealth, and SiteFeedback platforms and 24/7/366 website support…. meaning you can create an army of successful sites for one or many niches!

Watch the Video on Setting up Your Website using SiteRubix

Below you will find a training video specifically showing you how to create a website at Wealthy Affiliate using our easy-to-use website builder, SiteRubix. It really is simple and it will take you no more than a few minutes to get your very first website up and running.

With the website builder here at Wealthy Affiliate you can choose from 12 awesome website themes (templates) as a Starter member and all websites are pre-installed with 5 of the most powerful plugins. As a Premium member you have access to over 2,400 theme choices, and unlimited combinations of plugins and setup options!

Set-up Your Website Using SiteRubix

You will find the SiteBuilder along with everything else associated with your websites (passwords, profiles, feedback, site health, email accounts, and support) within “SiteRubix” link in the Premium Services menu to the left.

Build Your Website

Upon mousing over this menu, it will give you several options. To build your website you can either click on the SiteBuilder (takes you directly there) or you can click on SiteManager, where you can also initiate the SiteBuilder from.

4 Steps to create website

A Niche is A Group of People Looking for Stuff

Many folks are confused about the term “niche” and they read into it too much. Because of this, I want to simplify the term niche.

A niche is simply a GROUP of PEOPLE.

These people are interested in something, but something specific. The key when choosing this group of people is to be very specific because if you are are too broad, then it is going to be difficult to talk to your audience.

It is like someone walking into a supermarket looking for advice on “how to improve their metabolism”. It is not going to happen and you are not likely to trust the source of the information. Definitely not like the experience you would get if you walked into a store that specialized in metabolism.

Within the online world there are TWO BILLION people. That is the biggest marketplace in the world by a long shot so you want to really become an expert within the very specific category you choose.

So, when you sit down and are thinking of what your niche is, think not of this imaginary and confusing word “niche”, think instead of a group of people.

But you don’t want this group to be too broad. That is the worst thing you can do when starting out. I want to give you some examples of a niche that is too broad and then I want to give you some examples of groups of people that are much more “niche” and specific.

A group of people interested in health. Not the best (TOO BROAD).

Health could be just about anything. I constantly see folks trying to start off within the health niche. Well “health” isn’t a niche, it’s very broad. How do you target people within health? That is not an audience that you can effectively target, rather you need to dig down and get more specific.

A group of people looking to improve their metabolism. That is a targeted niche. There are MILLIONS of people looking to do this.

A group of people over 50 years old looking to lose weight. That is a targeted niche. There are MILLIONS of people looking to do this.

A group of people looking to fix their back problems. That is a targeted niche. There are MILLIONS of people looking to do this.

A group of men that are looking for help for hair loss. That is a targeted niche. There are MILLIONS of people looking to for this type of help.

A group of people that are looking for low carb diets. That is a targeted niche. There are MILLIONS of people looking for these.

See where I am going with this? People are not looking for health, they are looking for something much more specific. There are 10,000’s of niches within the broad “health” industry. Tens of thousands of groups looking to accomplish something, looking to buy something, looking for help solving a problem.

All you need to do is target one of these and you have yourself a niche and a very big group of people.

Let’s look at another example…

A group of people interested in babies. Not the best (TOO BROAD).

People interested in “babies” is going to be very difficult to target because it is far too broad. People don’t open Google and search for “babies” online, they search for things that are much more specific.

A group of people looking for organic baby products. That is a targeted niche (but still a little broad).

A group of people looking for organic cloth diapers. That is a targeted niche. There are MILLIONS of people looking to for these.

A group of people looking for stimulation toys for infants. That is a targeted niche. There are MILLIONS of people looking to do this. There are MILLIONS of people looking for these.

A group of people looking for learning apps for babies. That is a targeted niche. There are MILLIONS of people looking for these.

A group of people looking for jogging strollers. That is a targeted niche. There are MILLIONS of people looking for these.

A group of people looking for cribs and information about cribs. That is a targeted niche. There are MILLIONS of people looking for this.

A group of people looking for classic children’s books. That is a targeted niche. There are MILLIONS of people looking for these.

A group of people looking for information about colic babies. That is a targeted niche. There are MILLIONS of people looking for help.

A group of people looking for information on how to treat babies that are sick. That is a targeted niche. There are MILLIONS of people looking for help on this.

See how I am narrowing things down to a much more specific group of people? Sure, these are targeted but they are still massive. Millions of people are looking for information, for help, and ultimately are spending billions of dollars online buying things throughout the course of a year and you are going to be able to capitalize on this with your website.

Massive opportunity resides just about everywhere you look within the online world because there are specific groups of people everywhere (also known as niches)

But What About the Niche Competition? Shouldn’t I Be Concerned?

No…No….and NO!

Within each of these more targeted groups of people, there are 1,000’s (sometimes millions) of low competition keywords you can target. What you are learning here at WA also gives you a huge competitive advantage over your competition and is going to help you capitalize on any niche.

And please do remember, there is a reason there are a million of every type of store in the world. There are a million hardware stores. There are a million baby toy shops. Millions of people are buying stuff in the smallest of categories.

To put this into perspective, there are 4 million babies born in the US alone each and every year. That means there are 4 million mom’s and dad’s online looking for information about their new babies, looking for help, looking to buy products or services…and this is where you step in with your niche website.

This could be for organic cloth baby diapers or for information on colic babies…or anything that targets a specific group of people.

I don’t want to blow your mind too much here, but there are 120 million babies born every year globally so the audience that is online and looking for stuff within this niche is much larger than the 4 million people in the US.

Crazy right?

Now, when you go to choose your niche, dig into it a bit and find a more specific group of people. Recognize that there are MILLIONS of people within every niche you can imagine and that is the beautiful part about this Internet “thing”. It is not going anywhere and as every year goes by, there is opportunity absolutely everywhere you look and it only continues to grow.

Now go out there and find your GROUP OF PEOPLE.

Choose a Niche

What is a niche?

A niche is a distinct segment of a market, in other words an “audience”.

When choosing a niche that fits you, you should be choosing something that is ideally an interest, a passion, a hobby, a problem, a need or a want. Almost anything you can think of is a niche and that is why we are going to get you to choose YOUR niche based on things that you are interested in. You can earn money online from absolutely every single niche because there are billions of people out there searching every day.

The idea of a niche can be a little confusing at first, so I have created a video walk-through for this lesson that is going to walk you through what a niche is, how you earn money through a niche, and I will get you choosing your initial direction online. Watch the video below…

Your online business should not feel like a day job. Earning money online should be fun, and it is fun. This all starts with choosing a niche that you are interested in and will enjoy working with.

The more you enjoy doing something the less it feels like a job and the more productive you are going to be. Carson and I are immensely passionate about online business and teaching people how to make money online, so that is the niche we have chosen with Wealthy Affiliate.

Your niche could be anything, but at the core of your niche selection it should be something that you “like”. Something you enjoy. Something you can talk about. Something you want to learn about.

But Really, a Niche is a Group of People

In the simplest form, a niche is really a group of people looking for stuff. When you select your niche, you want to avoid being too broad with your niche selection. What people fail to understand is the fact that there are millions of people looking for stuff online within what seems to be the smallest of niches, but they really are not.

Because of this, I have spent some time putting together a blog post outlining how you should approach your niche selection, how to avoid going too broad with your niche, and how to really narrow it down to a group of people that are more specific and targeted.

READ: A Niche is a Group of People Looking for New Stuff

I provide you with some real life examples of how to break down a broad niche into more specific groups.

We want you to select the niche that interests you most and gets you the most excited. You can either choose your own niche at this point or you can choose the “make money” niche (that should be your choice if you have no idea what niche to choose).

A few things that you should understand about niches are:

(1) You are going to be writing content within your niche
(2) You are going to be communicating within your niche
(3) You are going to be choosing products to promote within your niche
(4) You need to enjoy helping people within your niche.
(5) Your first niche PROBABLY won’t be your last (so don’t worry about it being perfect)
(6) Any niche can become a “full time” successful business

There is NO SUCH THING as choosing the wrong niche.

Also, note that niches can always change. Just because you are choosing a niche now does not mean you will be in this particular niche forever.

Either way, please do not spend a week choosing your niche. Within the next 15-30 minutes (maximum) you should have your “starting point” niche chosen.

If you are REALLY STUCK at this point and you cannot decide on a niche, perhaps you may be interested in the “make money” niche.

6 Ways to Make Money with Your WordPress Blog

So you have your website set up but how do you start making money with it?

How do you monetize your site? I have seen the question in the chat and forum from new members asking how they can  actually make money with their blogs and that is what I will cover in this training.

In this tutorial I will talk about:

  • Who is your customer and what problem are you solving?
  • 6 Ways to Make Money with Your WordPress blog
  1. Affiliate programs
  2. Adsense ads and other advertising programs
  3. Building a list
  4. Amazon products
  5. Relevant advertisers
  6. Create your own product

Who Is Your Customer and What Problem Are You Solving?

Two important things to make sure you know are:
1. Who is your customer
2. What problem are you solving

To try and explain this a little better I will give you an example.

My first product that I promoted was a natural colic product for infants. The natural product would ease the stomach ache for babies, it would also help with the babies gas problems and this would lead to a happier baby.

I researched websites that talked about colic. I visited forums and chats where parents could talk about their issues, I borrowed books at the library… I have two kids myself so I had some real life experience as well.

What I found out was that my customer is a woman, mother, age 24 – 35… I created a profile of the typical ”customer”.

The problem I was solving was an emotional problem for the mother and the family. Not being able to help your infant is very difficult for a mother, she feels helpless and wants to do anything she can to ease the pain. The crying also puts a lot of stress on the parents and the rest of the family.

So some of the problems I was solving by offering this product were:

  • Help the mother feel good about ”fixing the problem”.
  • Get rid of the pain and gas problems for the baby.
  • Reduce the stress on the whole family
  • Also around holidays when you have family events the sales went up. The parents want to be able to be around the rest of the family and relatives without a sad, crying baby.

So how did I make money with this site?

1. Affiliate Programs

With my colic site I signed up for affiliate programs. I did a review site and compared the different programs. I found the affiliate programs by typing in the following into Google:

colic + affiliate programs

So your keyword + affiliate program. The first option that shows up is ColicCalm and that is the program that I focused on as my top choice. I had my first sale with ColicCalm I will never forget the $4 I made my family thought I`d won the lottery ;). To me it meant that Internet Marketing worked and it can be done!

Other affiliate marketing programs are:

  • Clickbank
  • Commission Junction
  • ShareaSale
  • BlueSnap used to be Plimus
  • MarketHealth

These are a few that I have used myself and they work great.

2. Adsense Ads and Other Ad Programs

With this site I did not add any Adsense ads but I have other sites that are both a combination of affiliate programs and Adsense ads and I have sites that are plain Adsense Ads sites.

Adsense ads are another way to make money online. You sign up an account with Google Adsense, after approval you can log in and get an ad code that you add to your own site. When you add this ad code ads will show in your post, page or sidebar.

When visitors click on your ads you will get paid for it. The payout to you depends on competition and demand, it varies highly from $0.1 up to $15 – 20 per click.

You are allowed to add 3 ad blocks to every page/post and you can customize it so that it blends in with your theme and content.

I use the plugin ”quick adsense” to make it as easy as possible to add the ads whereever I want them.

What other Ad programs are out there?

Note: If you apply for a new Adsense account you will need your own domain. You can not apply for an Adsense account using a subdomain like

When your account is approved using your own domain you can add Adsense to your site if you would like.

3. Building a List

Another great way to make money with a website is to build a list, by capturing your visitors email addresses. By doing this it allows you to keep in contact with your visitors. By giving them value and solutions to their problems you become the person to go to in this field.

The easiest way to capture an email from a visitor is by giving them something in return for their email address. In this case I put together a small e-book about colic and different ways to ease colic. They got the e-book for free by leaving their email address. This way I could continue staying in contact with the visitor.

The easiest way to stay in contact and to collect emails is by using a program /software that can help you with this. Personally I use Aweber and have done so for years. It is easy to use and it keeps track of your emails, follow up emails and broadcast emails to your different lists.

4. Amazon Products

I also added some more colic products for my review sites, some of the products I got from Since it is a physical product they had a lot of different options to choose from there.

The great thing when you add products from is that you get commission from any other products your visitor buys when you send through purchase. Starting out you will get 4% commission but the more products you sell the higher commission you will get.

In my case the products were not very expensive but if you target more expensive products you can make good money with For example a $1200 TV or camera will give you a $48 with 4% commission. The advantage is as I said before if they purchase anything at all, not even related to your product you still get paid.

5. Relevant Advertisers

Another way to make some money with your site is by contacting relevant companies and ask if they would like to advertise on your site. If this is the direction you want to take I would recommend you have some traffic and stats to show your potential advertisers when you contact them.

A plugin that makes all this very easy that I use myself is OIO publisher, it automates the whole process. You can add the ad blocks where you want them, the advertiser clicks on them and can sign up right there and then, payment can be done through Paypal.

If you want to go the easy way you can go through a company like that will connect the two, website owner and advertiser.

6. Create Your Own Product

If you are completely new to internet marketing I would suggest that you start out with affiliate marketing, when you know how to get traffic and turn that traffic in to buyers then you might want to move on and create your own product.

Don`t get me wrong creating your own product is a great way to make money and it should be a long term goal but getting some experience first will only benefit you.

The Process of Making Money Online

There are many ways to make money online…1000’s of different ways in fact! The problem is that people often get distracted by the “latest and greatest” product or service and they are never able to build a successful (and revenue generating) business.

Today we are going to run you through one of the most fundamental, yet the most powerful processes of generating revenue online. It is a proven technique, it is one that we use, and one that 10,000’s of other WA members use. It is also the ultimate “making money” process that worked 5 years ago and it is going to work 5 years from now and will present as much opportunity in the massive online world as you like

Just one thing before you get into the MONEY “stuff”…

The making money part of your business won’t happen quite yet. Before you earn money, you are going to first be focusing on creating your niche website (which will take place in the next two lessons) and the working to get traffic to your website. Without a website, without content, and without traffic, the MONEY doesn’t happen.

So don’t look at this like a race. You will reach success and a good deal of it, but before you build your own personal SKYSCRAPER of a business, you must first have a solid foundation to build it on. That is going to be our first goal within the Getting Started training. Cool?

Alright, let’s continue on! 🙂

Below is a video walk-through of today’s lesson and the process of “how to make money online”. Just click the link to watch it!

Over the coming days you are going to be working through this process and by the end of this phase of the training you are going to have an awesome foundation in place that will lead you to much greater success.

You are going to have your own website in a niche of your choice. Once you have these things in place, you are going to be able to create as much success as you want online.

Understand the Make Money Process

There are MANY different ways that you can earn money online and many different ways in which you can build an entire business. In the coming lessons we are going to be walking you through the following process (and the video above explains it):Earning Money Online

There are 2 billion people (the audience) online and these people are looking (searching) for things all the time. They are looking for information and to buy products. That is where you are going to come in with your website and help these “audiences” by offering them information about what they are looking. You will be “helping” these people and earning revenue in the process.

By Lesson 4 of this course you are going to have your very own website in place that you will use to connect with your chosen audience. You will have your very own piece of the internet and a platform to connect anyone that you want who browses the Internet.

Starting Your Online Business

You have definitely made the right choice in starting your online business.

In the coming days and weeks we are going to be showing you how online success works and we will help you realize your own potential within the Internet space to earn revenue and leverage the internet to grow a business.

Before we continue, we want to emphasize a few things:

(1) Anyone can accomplish success online. There are 2 billion people using the Internet, regardless of the direction you head online there is a very large number of people there that you can connect with.

(2) Anything NEW can appear to be overwhelming at first. It is normal to feel overwhelmed but you will quickly get the hang of things! Stick with your training and you will achieve, and exceed your goals.

(3) You do not need any experience or an existing online business. If you have experience that is great, but it is definitely not a requirement. Everything related to online business can be learned if you have the discipline and the willingness to learn.

(4) Success is not an event. Success is very cumulative in nature. This means that everything you do now, and every step you take will contribute towards your personal success in the future.

Success online is at the core a 4-step process nothing more complex than this and this is exactly what you are going to be learning.

Broken, down, the process looks like this:

Step 1: Choose an Interest

Step 2: Build Your Website

Step 3: Get rankings in search engines (leads to traffic)

Step 4: Earn $$$ from your traffic

Right now, there is no reason to delay your training, let’s get started.
